Position Title: Assistant ControllerDepartment: AccountingReports To: ControllerFLSA Status: ExemptLocation: Platteville, COSalary: $85,000 - $100,000 per yearJob Type: Full-TimeJob Summary:We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team in Platteville, CO. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in leading accounting operations and ensuring the financial health of our organization. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will oversee month-end financial close activities, analyze financial data, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong background in accounting and a passion for driving process improvements.Essential Job Functions:Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards.Prepare and analyze financial statements and account reconciliations.Develop and maintain month-end and year-end close checklists.Supervise General Accounting activities and provide mentorship to direct reports.Support external audit processes and tax filings.Generate daily financial reports and provide ad hoc reporting to internal stakeholders.Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and operational analysis.Communicate recommendations for continuous improvement to operational managers.Manage staffing and development within the accounting department.Oversee treasury management, including A/R, A/P, and bank reconciliations.Stay updated on developments and trends in finance and administration.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Understanding of operational systems and ERP interfaces.Strong organizational and leadership abilities.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Attention to detail and accuracy.Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on innovation.Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Effective problem-solving skills.Required Qualifications:Bachelors degree in accounting.Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.CPA or CMA certification.Experience in agriculture or food manufacturing.Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.Familiarity with Power BI or similar data analytic tools.Benefits Offered:We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k with employer match, HSA, dependent care FSA, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, paid sick leave, disability insurance, life insurance, and more.Please submit your resume.
