Job Description Job Description Estimator - Construction Estimator - Construction Position Overview A leading general contractor is seeking an Estimator to join our construction team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by preparing accurate cost estimates for various projects, including multifamily and commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will utilize advanced estimating software and possess an in-depth understanding of construction methods and materials. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects including multifamily and commercial buildings. Analyze drawings and specifications to determine project requirements and scope. Conduct takeoffs and quantify materials, labor, and overhead costs using estimating software such as CostOS and OnScreen. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates. Review and update estimates based on project changes and client feedback. Develop and maintain a database of costs for materials and labor to ensure accuracy in future estimates. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry, preferably with multifamily and commercial projects. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes. Proficiency in estimating software such as CostOS and OnScreen. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with great attention to detail. Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
