- $89,900+ per year, the posted salary range represents the minimum
to the midpoint within RVU's compensation plan. RVU's full
compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range. The
salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based
on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill,
knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.BENEFITS:RVU

status.Primary PurposeThe Director of International Scholar Success
serves to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for
International Scholars at RVU. The Position is responsible for the
recruitment of International Scholars, ensuring a smooth transition
during the admissions process, planning pre-orientation and
assisting with orientation, providing support during their RVU
education and ongoing assistance during residency as
needed.Essential Job Functions
- Serves as the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) for all
RVU campuses/programs.
- Manages and supervises the Student and Exchange Visitor
Information System (SEVIS) database. Ensures that the system is
current and accurate; responds to requests for information and
assistance as needed.
- Ensures that information pertaining to International Students
on the RVU Website is current; collects and evaluates all necessary
paperwork in a timely and accurate manner to ensure a seamless
matriculation. Works closely with the Designated School Official
(DSO) to ensure accurate data entry into SEVIS.
- Assists admitted students to successfully navigate
post-admissions process regarding financial matters, submitting
1-20 and other VISA documentation and requests as needed.
- Collaborates with Marketing and Admissions on International
Student Recruitment Strategies.
- Collaborates across campus through committees and assists
students who may be experiencing academic or personal
difficulty.
- Tracks international student records, onboarding progress using
reports, dashboards, and data analysis to ensure continuous quality
improvement. Creates reports regarding student admission yields,
attrition rates, etc.
- Creates and facilitates pre-orientation programs for
International Students to acclimate them to the university and
larger community. Assists Student Affairs with orientation.
- Possess and maintains an understanding of current trends in
International Student Affairs and Current immigration policies,
issues and procedures; updates the University's senior leadership
regarding International Student trends.
- Works with Student Affairs and the Office of DE&I to create
campus-wide programming and events to increase awareness of
cultures represented by the International Student Body.
- Serves as University Liaison with all Federal, State, and Local
government agencies regarding International Student Matters;
develops working relationships with immigration officials and other
stakeholders to further the University's goals and objectives.
- Meets in-person or virtually with International Students on a
regular basis to provide guidance and advice on their F-1 Status,
work eligibility, Optional Practical Training (OPT), travel
documentation process and other related matters. Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of the SEVIS documentation and reporting system.
- Must be a citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United
States to serve as a PDSO, as required by the United States
Department of Homeland Security .
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and in the use
of Zoom technology.
- Must be willing and available to be contacted during off hours;
must be available to work on nights or weekends as may be
requested.
- Ability to manage sensitive and challenging issues and maintain
confidentiality.
- Communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize
effectiveness with diverse groups of students, colleagues and
community members.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the

culture.
- Ability to interact collaboratively and professionally with
diverse groups and constituencies throughout the University.

- Bilingual candidates prefered Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Higher Education Administration,
Education, International Relations, Counseling or related
field.
- Minimum of 2+ years relevant experience as a PDSO or DSO
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Education,
International Relations, Counseling or related field.
- 3+ years experience working in an advisor/advocate role with
international students, preferably in a postsecondary institution
leading to an understanding of current trends in international
student retention, advising, and higher education. Final applicant
will be required to pass background check and drug
