We are looking for a Surgery Technician to join our team!--******WE ARE OFFERING A $1,500 SIGNING BONUS FOR THIS ROLE!***********$1,500 RELOCATION BONUS MAY APPLY FOR HIGHLY QUALIFIED REGISTERED TECHNICIANS RELOCATING WITHIN THE PARKER COLORADO AREA!*******This position is expected to work Tuesday-Friday 7am-5pm and does require some on-call duties on a rotating basis. Schedules are subject to change based off the needs of the Hospital and the Department. Training Days/Hours TBD***This position will pay $25-$34 hourly DOE***At least ONE YEAR of experience is required to be considered for this role!** **CVT/RVT Required!**Overall Responsibility: The Surgery Technician supports three board certified surgeons and the related patient care of surgical cases. The surgery team is a dynamic group within an ER and Specialty Hospital that has a busy caseload of elective and emergency procedures. The surgery technicians participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation. The Surgery Technician assists with various surgeries including soft tissue, orthopedic, laparoscopic, and other advanced surgeries.Key Areas of Responsibility:Under the supervision of the Anesthesiologist and Surgeons, administers medication and manages/monitors patients during surgical procedures-including pre and post op care and anesthesia recovery.Facilitates patient care of outpatient appointments for surgeons-consults and rechecks.Performs IV, IM and SubQ injections, IV catheter placements and advanced veterinary technician skills (arterial catheter placement, epidural administration, splint placements).Performs radiographs.Assists with all types of surgery, anesthesia, and other procedures as needed.Participate in surgery team responsibilities that facilitate efficient patient care: setting up and turning over Operating Rooms, preparing exam rooms and instruments, completing daily safety and cleaning duties.Perform and assist with all aspects of animal restraint for exams and procedures.Utilizes Ezyvet and Smartflow for documentation of patient care.Communicates with clients, including financial estimates and collecting payment.Interfaces with and assists other departments within the hospital as needed.Other duties as needed.Skill Requirements: Strong ability to multitask and anticipate needs. Ability to think quickly and react in stressful situations. Excellent patient care standards and advanced technical skills. Ability to calculate medication dosages accurately. Excellent communication. Handles stress well and keeps a positive attitude.Minimum Qualifications: Four years' work experience as Veterinary Technician and two years must include Critical Care/ICU or surgery/anesthesia. Must be registered in the state of Colorado as a Veterinary Technician or be able to become registered upon hire.Preferred Qualifications: 2 years of Veterinary Technician work experience running anesthesia in a Specialty Hospital with board certified surgeons.Educational/Professional Requirements: Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology. Veterinary Technician certification preferred.Physical Requirements: This job is physically active and requires frequent bending.
