Opportunity: Veterinary Technician - RVT The Humane Society of
Boulder Valley (HSBV) is seeking a full-time, 40 hours per week,
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join the veterinary
support team in our recently renovated veterinary hospital. Our
full-service, 8-doctor, non-profit veterinary hospital has been
open to the public since 1997. Our practice provides quality and
compassionate medical services to the public, and that same
high-quality care for animals in our shelter. Additionally, we
offer programs to support pet guardians needing access to
affordable veterinary care. This allows us to put the patient
first. At the same time, revenue generated by the veterinary
hospital directly supports the mission of the Humane Society of
Boulder Valley by funding health care for shelter animals. At HSBV,

valued. About the job - Beyond the standard duties of a technician
in a small animal practice – the daily assignments will rotate.
Between 10-25 animals are anesthetized per day. HSBV's hospital
provides spay and neuter services to an interesting variety of
small mammals and provides care for sick and injured stray animals.
Our patients have medical conditions not typically seen in the
average veterinary practice. HSBV's community practice operates
Monday through Saturday and select patient care staff also provide
support for the day-to-day treatment of shelter animals seven (7)

for this position is $22.00 - $27.00 per hour. There is an
additional $2.00 per hour paid for weekend hours worked. This pay
range is the Humane Society of Boulder Valley's best estimate for
this position and actual compensation will be based on factors
including but not limited to the depth and extent of relevant
experience, education, and additional training/certifications for
preferred skills. Additional compensation is available for
qualified employees who can translate for our Spanish-speaking

Qualifications We will consider candidates who possess a current
State of Colorado Registration as a Veterinary Technician (RVT), or
Colorado provisionally registered technicians (PVT) with full-time
availability preferred, part-time availability will be considered.
Experience with Fear Free protocols is a plus. A pre-employment
background check and drug screen are required for all employment
candidates. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong verbal and
written communication skills, organizational skills, and customer
service skills. Shows initiative and is a conscientious worker.
Ability to handle multiple tasks at once in a dynamic environment.
Meticulous and diligent; exercises good judgment when addressing
animal-related concerns and the needs of our clientele/community.
Able to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds. Experience with AVImark
software preferred. Schedule and Working Conditions Shifts are ten
hours in length. Saturday or Sunday availability is required. Work
is performed in an animal shelter environment and a veterinary
hospital environment. Exposure to cleaning agents when in kennel
and hospital areas. Exposure to animals at all times. Subject to
animal bites and scratches while handling animal of questionable
temperament and under the effects of anesthesia. Daily lifting of
up to fifty pounds. Ten-hour work shift requires frequent standing,
walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and lifting. About
