Cardiovascular Sonographer I at UCHealth summary: The Cardiovascular Sonographer I performs routine and emergency echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound tests, assisting physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac and vascular procedures. They prepare patients and equipment, analyze imaging, and ensure quality control and safety standards while working independently in a fast-paced medical environment. Certification in cardiac and vascular sonography and BLS/CPR credentials are required for this role. Description Location: UCHealth UCHth Parkview Medical Center, US:CO:Pueblo Department: Cardiac Vasc Diag Ctr FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) Shift: Days Pay: $43.70 - $61.17 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience Summary: Performs routine and emergency echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound tests in an outpatient exam room, or if appropriate, portable at patient bedside. Responsibilities: • Independently performs responsibilities of underlying job(s) and acts as subject matter expert in providing board certified level of care. Prepares patients for procedures within scope of practice. • Assists physician with performing diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac and/or vascular interventional procedures. Performs, analyzes imaging procedures and results; takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues. • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. Assists with monitoring patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. • Prepares equipment and supplies. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action. • Requirements: • Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography, diagnostic cardiac sonography or vascular technology program. • 1 adult echo, 1 vascular credential. • 2 years of related experience. • Adult: ARDMS: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Adult (AE) or CCI: Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS). • Vascular: Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) or Vascular Technologist (RVT). • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
