Job Description Job Description Description: Our busy dental practice is growing, and we need someone who can provide high-quality dental care and assist our dentist and dental hygienists with examinations and dental procedures. Our ideal candidate has a dental assisting certificate or one year of dental practicing experience, and excellent customer service, organization, and communication skills. Responsibilities Seat and prepare hygiene patient for care Prepare room, equipment and instruments Take vital signs and update medical history as needed Explain scheduled treatment Radiographs and intraoral imaging Polishing, flossing and fluoride application Charting and note-taking Proper maintenance of equipment, biohazards, sterilizers, waterlines, and handpieces Ensuring patient comfort throughout the procedure or examination Schedule next hygiene or additional treatment visits Provide exceptional patient care and help the team stay on time Ensure all dental office infection control policies and safety regulations are met Sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use Manage hygiene schedule, treatment frequencies and insurance coverage Requirements: Qualifications Sterilization and asepsis training – INFECTION CONTROL OSHA/HIPAA knowledge Able to take X-rays (digital) including pano, bitewings, vertical bitewings, FMX, and single PAs Coronal polishing, flossing, fluoride application, sealants, and hygiene instructions Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors and patients Able to schedule, answer phones and document visit information.
