The Ophthalmic Clinical Coordinator for Cataract and Refractive
Surgery will be responsible for developing strategic objectives to
grow the Cataract and Refractive Surgery program for the Sue
Anschutz-Rodgers Eye Center. This leader will partner with the
Director of Ophthalmic Services and Division Chief Surgeon of
Cataract & Refractive Surgery to create clinical training protocols
and manage daily operations of this program.
The Ophthalmic Clinical Coordinator will also provide leadership
for staff, ensuring adequate resources, equitable distribution of
work, problem solving and staff development
- Supervises employee productivity and utilization, schedules
clinical staff into individual physician clinics. Evaluates staff
performance. Assists with disciplinary situations. Maintains
efficient patient flow. Monitors work performed to meet practice
standards. Coordinates minor surgical and laser procedures.
- Administers medications per protocol, assesses effects, and
documents care. Ensures patient safety. Coordinates continuing
education and training activities. Assists with physician
participation in ophthalmic technical education.
- Provides education and technical demonstrations to students and
staff. Assists in orienting and mentoring staff. Assists with
quality control and maintenance of equipment and supplies, stocks
supplies, and performs minor equipment repairs.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develops and operationalizes strategic objectives to grow the
Cataract and Refractive Surgery Program
- Maintains reports on tracking surgical outcomes and
- Collaborates with Ophthalmic Educator to create educational
resources and training programs
- Collaborates with Marketing Team, Director of Ophthalmic
services, and Division Chief Surgeon of Cataract & Refractive
Surgery to manage and track marketing efforts
- Maintains advance knowledge base on all premium cataract and
- Coordinates laser repairs and maintenance logs with biomed
department and vendor
- Ensures staff laser certifications are current
- Coordinates repairs with engineering. Reports major equipment
- High school diploma or GED
- 5 years of related experience
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic
Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist

The pay range for this position is: $25.80 - $38.70 / hour.
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
An annual bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon
organizational and individual performance.
